The prayer group will continue to meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. This is a special time of focused prayer for our church, focused on praying for our transition to a new lead pastor and the future of our church beyond. All are welcome!
O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Loving Servants) meets this Sunday! Join us after worship in the Fellowship Hall for a meal and a great time together. We will be hosting some very special guests at this meeting! Afterward, we will also hold a congregational business meeting. We hope you will join us!
Next month, The Cove youth group is planning to hold a yard sale fundraiser! If you were planning on doing some cleaning out of your cluttered closet or garage, don’t throw away anything you find! Instead, please consider donating it to The Cove to sell at the yard sale. As the saying goes: “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.” (Unless it really is just trash, like old banana peels. It you find something like that in your closet then, please, by all means throw it out!)
If you would like to donate some things to the yard sale, you are free to start dropping those items off at the church now! Either bring them on Sunday or come by the church office during the week. If you have any questions or if you would like to help with the yard sale in a different way, please contact Bekah.
As always, all the money The Cove raises at fundraising events such as this will go toward their trip to CHIC this summer.
Beginning later this month, Laurie Cornell will be leading a membership class for all who are interested in becoming registered members of Village Covenant Church. Classes will be held at 9:15 AM in Laurie’s office for three Sundays: February 24, March 3, and March 11. In this class, attendees will learn about the origins of the Covenant tradition and the beliefs and practices that make up the Covenant denomination and set it apart from other branches of Christianity. Attendees will also learn about Village Covenant Church specifically, learning about how we operate as a church organization and what our missions and goals are for our congregation and the community around us.
If you are not yet a church member at Village, we sincerely hope you will consider attending. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! Please contact Laurie if you have any questions.
On Sunday, February 18, The Cove youth group will be hosting Village’s annual Sweets for a Sweetie auction and fundraiser! Sweets for a Sweetie will be slightly after Valentine’s Day this year. But this means if you find yourself in a position of having forgotten to get your sweetie a Valentine’s gift, you’ll have a good excuse! You were just waiting to get them something at the auction, right?

We are jumping right into our next collaborative reading schedule, “Immerse: Kingdoms“. This week, we will be looking at pages 19-39. This reading will be the focus of worship this Sunday, and also the focus of discussion this week in our reading groups.
