The Cove Yard Sale Fundraiser

*The yard sale date has been moved back to May 19!

The Cove is planning to hold a yard sale fundraiser! If you were planning on doing some cleaning out of your cluttered closet or garage, don’t throw away anything you find! Instead, please consider donating it to The Cove to sell at the yard sale. As the saying goes: “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.” (Unless it really is just trash, like old banana peels. It you find something like that in your closet then, please, by all means throw it out!)

If you would like to donate some things to the yard sale, we would encourage you to start dropping those items off at the church now! Either bring them on Sunday or come by the church office during the week. If you have any questions or if you would like to help with the yard sale in a different way, please contact Bekah.

As always, all the funds raised from this event will go toward The Cove’s trip to CHIC this summer and other events and activities for the youth.

Childcare for children up to age 5 is provided beginning at 9:30 AM in our nursery, and elementary age children will be released during the second half of worship for kid-focused Sunday school and activities.

David Schultz Celebration

This Sunday, we will be holding a very special cake reception in honor of longtime Village member David Schultz. David has been attending at Village for much of his life; he first started attending during the 1980s. David will be leaving Azusa soon to move to a retirement community in Springfield, Missouri, where he will be closer to his son. Over the past several decades, and the past ten years especially, David has become a veritable pillar of the Village community. We would like to celebrate David’s time as an integral part of the Village family and also wish him well on this new chapter in his life.

We hope you will join us for this special time of reflection and celebration this Sunday immediately following worship in the Fireside Room.

The Cove is going to Alpine this weekend!

This Friday, The Cove will leave for Alpine Winter Camp for the weekend! Bekah and the other Cove leaders will be accompanying eleven students up to Alpine this year, for what is sure to be a time of maximum fun and great spiritual growth! Please keep all the students and leaders in your prayersthis week and over the weekend, praying especially for safe travels and open hearts to Jesus.

And please also look forward to a full report and perhaps a testimony or two during worship next Sunday after they return!

If you have any questions, please contact Bekah. Thank you!

Become a member of Village Covenant Church

Beginning this Sunday, Laurie Cornell will be leading a membership class for all who are interested in becoming registered members of Village Covenant Church. Classes will be held at 9:15 AM in Laurie’s office for three Sundays: February 24, March 3, and March 11. In this class, attendees will learn about the origins of the Covenant tradition and the beliefs and practices that make up the Covenant denomination and set it apart from other branches of Christianity. Attendees will also learn about Village Covenant Church specifically, learning about how we operate as a church organization and what our missions and goals are for our congregation and the community around us.

If you are not yet a church member at Village, we sincerely hope you will consider attending. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! Please contact Laurie if you have any questions.
