TONIGHT!! Village and Vision Combined Thanksgiving Dinner

This evening at 7:00 PM, both the Village and Vision congregations will gather together for a special combined Thanksgiving dinner! Join us in the Fellowship Hall on this evening for a great meal as well as a wonderful time of fellowship together. Additionally, please look forward to a fun-filled program hosted by The Cove youth group! All are welcome, and family and friends are encouraged to come, too!

The dinner will be potluck style, so please also bring a dish to share. Please contact Mary Ann for dish sign up. Speak to Bekah or Laurie if you have any questions.

Hope to see you there!

The Cove youth group is now registered with Amazon’s charity donation program, AmazonSmile! If you ever purchase anything from Amazon, this is a great way for you to support The Cove further within your normal routine and at no added cost to you. There are just a couple steps to get set up to start donating:

  1. Go to smile.amazon.com and use your existing Amazon credentials to sign in. (If you don’t have an Amazon account, now is a great time to make one! Simply click the link that says “New to Amazon? Create an account”)
  2. Once you are signed in, it will ask you to select a charity. Under the section that reads “Or pick your own charitable organization:” use the search box to search for “Village Covenant Church” and find the result for Azusa CA. Then click the yellow “Select” button next to it.
  3. And that’s it! You are now set up to start supporting The Cove with every purchase you make through AmazonSmile! If you already had an account with Amazon, all your saved addresses, payments methods, and other preferences are automatically carried over to AmazonSmile.

*A couple important things to note: Please make sure you return to smile.amazon.com every time you’re ready to make a purchase. Purchases made through the normal amazon.com site or the Amazon mobile app will not count toward supporting The Cove, even after you register with AmazonSmile. It is recommended that you make a bookmark that will take you directly to AmazonSmile, or install the Amazon Assistant browser plug-in for desktop browsers and enable it for AmazonSmile.

After all is said and done, you’ll know you’re in the right place if the upper left of your screen looks like the picture below:

Thank you for supporting The Cove!

The Cove is going to San Francisco!

This summer, from July 30 through August 4, The Cove youth group is taking a trip to San Francisco! There will be five students and two leaders going on the trip, and they will be working with the Center for Student Missions to serve at various ministry sites around the Bay Area. As part of their trip, The Cove will also have the opportunity to experience some of the culture of the Bay Area, as well. The youth leaders would like to ask everyone to please pray for a safe trip, and to pray that that the experience may be formative and enriching for the students. Donations of any amount or kind are also gladly appreciated!

Also, please look forward to a recount of the trip and all the experiences had therein the Sunday following The Cove’s return!

High School Seniors’ Sunday

Next Sunday, June 25, we will have a special recognition for graduating high school seniors during service. Join us in showing support and offering prayer for our graduating seniors as they begin the next chapter in their lives.

Ben Tucker’s Eagle Project

Village’s very own Ben Tucker is revving up to fulfill his last requirements for earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. One of his final requirements is to plan, organize, and execute a community service project. For his project, Ben has chosen to redo Village’s playground and sandbox area so that it looks nicer and is usable for the Kids Camp over the summer, as well as adding plants and a picnic area directly outside the fireside room for people to use on Sunday mornings.

Ben would also like to point out that part of the process of completing his Eagle Project also includes taking donations for the project itself to get done. Ben is aiming to have the first phase of the project started on the weekend of June 16 and 17, and any donations of supplies, materials, or funds that anyone is willing to give would be greatly appreciated. If donating supplies or materials, please check with Ben beforehand to see what is still needed. If writing a check, it should be made out to Village Covenant Church and have it noted in the memo section that they are for Ben’s Eagle Project.

The Cove Youth Group Overnighter

Speak with Tim Kim or email him if interested in being a part of the fun. Invite your friends to come along, too! Even if they don’t normally come to The Cove!
